Join Little Otter for an important conversation on suicidality in young children

We’re excited to invite you to an important virtual fireside chat hosted by our partner, Little Otter - a children & whole-family virtual mental health company - where they’ll be discussing a critical issue that often goes unspoken: suicidality in young children.

Event Details:

🗓️ Date: Thursday, September 19th

🕛 Time: 12:00pm ET

📍 Location: Online (Virtual Event)

About the Event:

Suicide is the second leading cause of death among children aged 10-14 years old, and data shows that even children as young as 5 years old can experience suicidal thoughts and behaviors. To address this hidden crisis, Little Otter’s Co-Founder and Chief Medical & Scientific Officer, Dr. Helen Egger, and MCIU Project Aware’s Dr. Pia Houseal will be sharing key insights from their recent report, "The Hidden Crisis: Suicidality in Children as Young as 5."

Moderated by Amy Kennedy, Co-Founder of The Kennedy Forum, this conversation will:

  • Dispel Myths: Understand how talking about suicide can actually reduce risk and improve mental health.
  • Explore Findings: Learn about Little Otter’s new data on the prevalence of suicidality in children, with 19% of children 8-14 and 6% of children 3-7 screening positive for suicide risk.
  • Provide Guidance: Gain insights into identifying, assessing, and treating children with positive suicide risk.
  • Address Challenges: Discover the impact of bullying, social media, and other factors on children's mental health.
